Lemon Apple Cider Green Tea Detox Water

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 lemon – Cut into small slices
  • 1 cup brewed green detox tea

Directions

Mix 1-cup of green tea with 2 cups of filtered water and pour it in a glass. Then add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 1 sliced lemon. Let it infuse for 2 hours and sip throughout the day. You can add fresh water to the mixture if it finishes and let the ingredients stay in the container for a second steeping.

The Science

The Apple Cider assists the digestive issues within the body, has antibiotic effects, prevents indigestion and aids in weight loss. The acetic acid suppresses the appetite, reduces water retention and reduces the number of calories that will enter into your bloodstream. Ultimately the Apple Cider helps your body burn unwanted fats.

Lemon is a natural detoxifier and contains high amounts of vitamin C, which in turn helps your immune system and liver. Lemons also contain vitamin B6, vitamin A, vitamin E, folate, niacin thiamin, riboflavin, copper, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and phosphorus.

Cinnamon Apple Green Tea Detox Water

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Apple – Cut into small slices
  • 1 Cup brewed Green Detox Tea

Directions

Mix 1-cup of green tea with 2 cups of filtered water and pour it in a glass. Then add the 2 sticks of cinnamon and 1 sliced apple. Let it infuse for 2 hours and sip throughout the day. You may want to remove the cinnamon in less than the full 2 hours as it can be a potent ingredient – I usually keep it in for 1 hour. You can add fresh water to the mixture if it finishes and let the ingredients stay in the container for a second steeping.

The Science

Cinnamon contains lots of different powerful antioxidants, such as polyphenols. These specific antioxidants have anti-inflammatory properties as well, which may help lower the risk of disease. Another strong benefit of cinnamon is its ability to boost our bodies sensitivity to the hormone insulin, which can help neutralize and lower blood sugar levels.

Apples contain pectin, a type of fiber that acts as a prebiotic. A prebiotic is a good type of bacteria in your gut and can help protect you against obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Apples are a good source of fiber and vitamin C. They also contain polyphenols, which can have numerous health benefits.

Lime Mango Green Tea Detox Water

Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized Mango – Cut into strips or cubes
  • 1 Lime – Cut into small wedges or slices
  • 1 Cup brewed Green Detox Tea

Directions

Mix 1-cup of green tea with 2 cups of filtered water and pour it in a glass. Then add the mango and the lime slices. Let it infuse for 2 hours and sip throughout the day. You can add fresh water to the mixture if it finishes and let the ingredients stay in the container for a second steeping.

The Science

Lime has similar antioxidants and detox properties as lemons. The citric acid present in lime is known to act as a fat burner. The natural acidity in lime helps in the breakdown of the macromolecules of food within your stomach. The high levels of soluble fiber found in limes helps it regulate the body’s absorption of sugar into the bloodstream.

Mangos contain enzymes for breaking down protein and in turn, helping your digestion system process certain foods. The tartaric acid, malic acid, and small amount of citric acid found in mangos help to maintain the alkali reserve of the body. This presence of alkali also can boost your body’s immune system.

Mint Cucumber Green Tea Detox Water

Ingredients

  • ½ of a medium-sized Cucumber – Cut into thin slices
  • 4 sprigs of Mint or ~20 leaves
  • 1 Lemon – Cut into thin slices
  • 1 Cup brewed Green Detox Tea

Directions

Mix 1-cup of green tea with 2 cups of filtered water and pour it in a glass. Then add the mango and the lime slices. Let it infuse for 2 hours and sip throughout the day. You can add fresh water to the mixture if it finishes and let the ingredients stay in the container for a second steeping.

The Science

The Cucumber provides a nice crisp flavor that can be especially nice in the summer. Cucumbers contain numerous antioxidants, including the vitamin C and beta-carotene. Cucumber skins contain insoluble fiber, which helps add bulk to your stool. This helps food to move through your digestive tract more quickly for healthy and effective elimination.

Mint has beneficial digestion properties and soothes the stomach in cases of indigestion or inflammation. Mint stimulates the digestive enzymes that absorb nutrients and vitamins from different foods and fat, and turns it into usable energy. By adding mint to your diet, you are increasing the amount of fat that is being consumed and put to use, rather than being stored and contributing to potential weight gain.

Melon Basil Green Tea Detox Water

Ingredients

  • ½ of a medium-sized Melon or Cantaloupe – Cut into small Cubes
  • 4 sprigs of Basil or ~20 leaves
  • 1 Cup brewed Green Detox Tea

Directions

Mix 1-cup of green tea with 2 cups of filtered water and pour it in a glass. Then add the melon and the Basil leaves. Let it infuse for 2 hours and sip throughout the day. You can add fresh water to the mixture if it finishes and let the ingredients stay in the container for a second steeping.

The Science

Melons contain B vitamins, which account for most of your body’s energy production. B vitamins are required by the body to process sugars and carbs, making these vitamins very important for day-to-day functions. Melons are also low in calories and low in sodium as well as fat and cholesterol free.

Basil not only adds a very nice flavor to water, but it also contains high amounts of antioxidants and acts as a natural anti-inflammatory for the body. Basil helps balance acid within the body and realign the body’s proper pH level. This can improve digestion and immunity by helping healthy bacteria flourish within the gut, while also decreasing harmful bacteria that can cause disease.
